Hey blog, how are you doing?
Yes I know it's been a long time. but we have some catching up to do.
This post is going to be introducing my baby girl and letting you know that she is already 6 freaking months old. WHAT?!
Yes. I have been a mom for 6 months. This is amazing.
She is the cutest, sweetest baby in the world! (that's a fact).
Baby Zoey Lyn
Here she is One day old! so tiny.
p.s. those are my parents and thanks Rileigh for taking these!
SLEEPING:
Zoey has always been a good sleeper during the night. She went to one feeding at night after about 3 weeks. That was great. So napping during the day is not her specialty. We haven't set up the one nap in the morning one in the afternoon, it's more like a bunch of 20 min naps when she can get them. (in the car, my arms or in a carrier). The tiny naps during the day are fine with me because she gets good rest at night. If she doesn't then she will make it up during the day. So everything balances out.

Few weeks old. those tiny hands :)
EATING:
Zoey has been exclusively breastfeed (with a few bottle at first) until a few weeks ago.
(Yeah for pureed food),
The first week or so nursing was extremely hard for me. The pain was so bad I would cry the moment she latched. I knew it was going to hurt but i knew this was way to much. After a few days with this happening I called the lactation consultant to see if I was doing something and nursing was not for me. During my pregnancy I was not set on nursing only, bottle feeding was totally fine with me. Leading up to my appt. I bought some formula to give her, thinking she wasn't getting enough because I would pull her for after a few minutes. I talked to the doc. and she told me the latch was fine and I was doing everything correct, then she gave me a nipple shield to help with the pain. ( they should hand these out at the hospital it was a life safer). I put that on and the pain was gone. instantly I was so surprised. I used that for about a week and after that I had no more pain. We have been nursing ever since.
A few weeks ago we started puree foods.
Her favorite is the Gerber Organics with apple, carrots, and squash.
Don't let this face fool you she loves eating!
She went through a phase where she found her tongue and wanted to show everyone.
bath time. This tub was fun but it's a lot easier having her shower with us.
SIZING:
When Zoey was born she was 7lbs 8oz. She has been gaining weight like a crazy person ever since. at the last check up she was 17lbs. The pediatrician has said she is a healthy little girl and is the 90th for everything. Zoey has been in 4-6 month clothing since she was 3 months. Sad that we didn't get to wear a lot of the newborn clothes but those are being saved for the next girl we have.
sleepy smiles
Fully dressed for dinner with friends.
this was my favorite outfit of hers. Its a grey sleeveless jumpsuit. this is the last time she wore it and I was so sad. As you can tell I squeezed her in to this for a picture haha
Meeting the cousins for the first time.
my sisters kids loved her.
first swim. I promise she loved it and was very happy.
first time standing
MILE STONES:
In the last month she has gone from being a floppy baby to wanting to walk everywhere!
About the middle of June she was having trouble rolling from her tummy to her back. She loved rolling over but cried when she couldn't roll back over. After a week or 2 with that she had just rolled over, tummy to back, she did it. the next week that's all she did just roll roll roll. I was happy with the no more crying and she was happy with her new found movement. towards the beginning of July she sat herself up. With this wonderful new skill came lots of new bumps. Zoey would sit up to straight fall backwards and hit her head. Which always ended up being on something hard. (ouch)
From then on it was no stopping her. She sat up every chance she got no matter how much she hit her head. After that it was standing. She hasn't show anything indicating that she has been trying to stand. One day I looked over and there she was, she had pulled her self up on a chair and was looking around. Now that is all she wants to do, if she can get her little hands on the edge of something she will try her hardest to stand even if the fall is going to hurt. The next step is walking. WHAT?! I don't know if I'm ready for that.
Here to many more adventures!
